In 1978 the Segafredo family sold their Segafredo coffee business to Massimo Zanetti creating Segafredo Zanetti. It was not long before the Segafredo family decided to return to the coffee business and in 1979 Essse Caffé was founded in Bologna and to this day is still run by the Segafredo family.

For Essse Caffé, Selezione Essse represents the most authentic Italian Espresso. This blend yields an espresso characterized by fullness, well-roundedness, body and fragrance, with a perfect balance between acidic and bitter notes.
Selezione Essse is composed of eight varieties of Arabica and Robusta; it regales the taster with a full-bodied and chocolatey espresso characterized by notes of walnuts, with decidedly persistent hints of cocoa. This blend is perfect for the first coffee of the morning, but it pairs perfectly with milk as well; therefore Essse Caffé recommend it for the preparation of cappuccino and latte macchiato. This is a Essse Caffé blend that unites varieties of Arabica and Robusta, for an espresso with a mellow aroma, full-bodied with a good balance of flavors. It finishes with a prevalence of notes of cocoa and toast and a syrupy and persistent body. It is not affected greatly by the variable weather conditions and is suitable for consumption any time of the day. It’s a blend developed to yield an espresso that leaves a pleasant aftertaste with multiple nuances.
SELEZIONE DECAF COFFEE BEANS / BLEND
Essse Caffé Selezione Decaffeinato is intended to produce an espresso with a decided aroma and traditional flavor, but with a caffeine content of less than 0.10%. On the palate, hints of dried fruit and cocoa emerge; this coffee is enveloping, but light, while it maintains good body, being particularly digestible, because as well as being decaffeinated it’s also dewaxed.
